Early Life and Education
Wu Bangguo was born in July 1941 in Feidong County, Anhui Province.
He went on to pursue his higher education at the prestigious Tsinghua University in Beijing, where he studied Radio Electronics.
Political Career
Wu's political journey began with his admission into the Communist Party of China (CPC) in 1964.
In 1985, he became a candidate member of the CPC Central Committee, and in 1992, he was appointed to the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee.
Leadership in Shanghai
From April 1991 to 1994, Wu served as the Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPC.
During this time, he oversaw the city's rapid economic growth and development.
